Artist in Residence at Mary Cairncross Reserve
I’m excited to share that I will be joining the Sunshine Coast Nature Sketchers as Artists in Residence at the Mary Cairncross Reserve in Maleny from 5 to 17 April 2025.
I will be there every day of the residency to document the reserve’s biodiversity and creatively explore the plants, mosses, lichens, fungi, insects, and animals that live in this ecological treasure.
If weather permits, the artists will draw along the paths most days during the week. Please feel free to say hello if you are passing by. The visitor centre will host an exhibition of botanical artworks and an evolving display of nature sketches from the residency.
You can also drop in to try nature sketching with us on weekends from 10am to 12:30pm.

What a beautiful environment for a residency! I was at Mary Cairncross the day before you arrived and i’m sorry to have missed this.
Do you ever hold an open garden at your Sunshine Coast property? I’m in process of rewilding my Brisbane front yard and would love to see what you’ve done. Thank you for the subtropical plant list, it’s a helpful launching off point!
