A fast-growing shrub with large, vibrant purple flowers (over 10cm!) and finely lobed, grey-green foliage. Take note of the size and make sure you have the room as it does grow quickly. Needs full sun and well drained and ideally sandy soil to grow well.

A spectacular screening plant where you have the room and the sunlight. Don’t plant it on the south side of the fence as it won’t get enough sun there. A better choice is for north facing spots. Can be pruned to the size you want with a bit of work, although it can get a bit sparse around the base.

Particularly useful for coastal gardens and sandy soil, although will do well in other soils if the draining is good. If you have a slope or bank that allows for water drainage then it will cope with most soils in that situation.

Requires well-drained soils under full sun. Tolerates drought but benefits from occasional watering. Prune after flowering to encourage dense growth.
