A vibrant Kangaroo Paw with fiery red flowers and tall stems, ideal for creating striking displays in native gardens. This is one of my favourite Kangaroo Paws as the red colour is really quite spectacular and it’s a hardy and low fuss plant if kept in the right climates. They are fussy about humidity so not ideal for growing in the sub-tropics or tropics, although I might try it in my new Qld garden in a pot at some stage.

In the photo it is pictured growing with Eremophila Nivea and Lechenaultia biloba Big Blue.

Perfect for a cut and come again garden as you will be rewarded with more flowers if you do cut a few off regularly. Also small enough to make a stunning feature in a pot and useful for flowering garden borders due to it’s compact habit and size.

Grows in sandy, well-drained soils in full sun. Drought-tolerant once established. Prune old flower stems to encourage new growth. If you’re growing it in a pot be sure to add a good amount of sand to the potting mix and make sure you use pot feet or a riser to ensure good drainage.
