A robust Kangaroo Paw with bold red flowers and tall, upright stems, ideal for large native gardens or as feature plants. This Kangaroo Paw is long lived and hardy in a range of conditions. It is much larger than the small ornamental varieties that you typically see in the big green shed, so make sure you keep that in mind.

Given it’s size it is best at the middle or back of flowering beds and when given the space to grow tall without other plants encroaching. The flower stalks are very tall indeed. You could use them as a cut flowers if you want something very large and dramatic!

You could grow it in a container but you would need a very big one to visually balance the flower size.

Thrives in sandy or loamy soils under full sun. Tolerates light frosts. Requires occasional pruning to maintain shape and remove old stems. Handy for sub-tropical climates and damper soils as it is one Kangaroo Paw that will still thrive in these conditions. Also likes a hot sunny spot and will even grow in clay soils.
