Anigozanthos ‘Kings Park Federation Flame’ Kangaroo Paw

Botanical Name: Anigozanthos rufus

Common Name: Kangaroo Paw

Average Height (cm): 150

Average Width (cm): 80

Description:

A bold Kangaroo Paw with fiery red-orange flowers on tall stems and grey-green foliage. Hardy and long-lived. I have found this Kangaroo Paw to be low fuss.

Garden Design Uses:

The flowers are tall but not giant like some of the Tall & Tough varieties, making this cultivar more useful in a range of gardens, garden sizes and pots. It also handles dry conditions well, making it useful for semi-arid gardens provided it has good drainage. Good for cut flowers as the striking blooms last very well in a vase.

Care:

Thrives in sandy soils with full sun and will tolerate dry conditions. Requires occasional pruning of old stems to encourage healthy growth and flowering.
