A delicate little tufted grass-like perennial with fragrant purple flowers that smell of chocolate!

This sweet little plant is unassuming until it flowers and may even die down to just the tuber in the dry season. But it will reshoot when the right conditions allow, such as the steady rain of early spring or summer.

It is ideal for planting in grassy wildflower meadows that come alive with flowers in the warmer months. It is quite adaptable and has a wide range in Australia. You can also mass plant it around the base of a tree where it will enjoy some light shade. Or grow it in a container with some other small plants that need good drainage.

Prefers well-drained soils in partial shade to full sun. Water occasionally during dry periods. Sniff the flowers! The smell is divine.
