A large shrub or small tree with glossy green leaves that release a strong lemon fragrance when crushed. Produces clusters of small white flowers in spring that are oh so pretty and charming. The individual flowers are small and dainty, but each bloom forms in large clusters making this quite a spectacular shrub in full flower.

Very useful for screening as it grows densely to block out ugly views and will handle a shaded side of the fence. It can also be pruned to form a tall hedge and will tolerate the regular trimming required. It is quite slow growing, so will take a while before that is required.

Instead of one large annual prune, pick the leaves continually to make a lovely lemon flavoured tea.

Also makes a great indoor plant! the glossy green leaves and dense shape are ideal for inside growing and it will handle a little less light. Don’t pop it next to your aircon though! As it likes humidity.

Thrives in well-drained soils in full sun to half shade. Requires regular watering during establishment. Prune lightly to shape after flowering.
