A medium to large shrub with aromatic green leaves that smell a little like sweet cinnamon. With clusters of small, creamy-white flowers.

The size of the Grey Myrtle can be a little confusing – as you can see them growing over 20m high in nature. But in the home garden they tend to be much smaller, and also they grow smaller in southern and cooler climates.

They are also quite slow growing, so they will take time to get to the top of your fence and growth can be controlled quite easily with a very occasional prune. So the size given here is definitely a very relaxed guideline only!

Its dense foliage makes it an excellent screening plant.  Perfect for hedges and screening and tricky spots on the shaded side of a fence or even between the house and fence if you have some width available (eg don’t put it in a garden ben 50cm wide and expect that to work!).

This beautiful rainforest plant can also be grown indoors!

Versatile and easy care – plant in full sun (it will grow larger in light) or in half shade. Requires regular watering during establishment. Can be pruned heavily to form dense hedges.
