Bauera rubioides Candy Stripe – River Rose

Botanical Name: Bauera rubioides Candy Stripe

Common Name: River Rose

Average Height (cm): 150

Average Width (cm): 100

Description:

A small shrub with dense, small green leaves and dainty pink striped bell flowers that bloom over an extended period, creating a soft, romantic look.

Garden Design Uses:

So useful in native gardens as it will flower in shade and handles moist and boggy spaces. It also has a nice dense form with small leaves. You can plant it under trees and in wet depressions in the garden.

Ideal for shady spots beside a fence or that tricky narrow spot between the house and the fence that gets little sun.

Also does well in a pot although I have found it can be slow growing.

Care:

Prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial to full shade. Regular watering is required, especially in drier conditions. Prune lightly to maintain a neat shape.
