A compact, low-growing perennial with mauve to deep purple flowers displayed on narrow, upright stems. It’s a stunning plant when in flower!

The silver grey foliage is rather similar to Rosemary and creates a nice contrast with green foliage in your garden design. Pruning will help to encourage a fuller habit when young but it will not prevent the flower stalks from getting tall and a little floppy. It benefits from support from surrounding plants to really admire the flowers in spring, so I recommend it for heavily planted flower borders around mid way into the bed and it would also be a lovely one to try in a flowering meadow. In a container it will also need to be planted with companions or given support when in flower.

Prefers well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. Drought-tolerant once established. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape. May not survive heavy flooding rains.
