An iconic Australian native from southern WA. This cultivar is spectacular in flower but is short lived. Best considered like an annual or biannual to add pops of incredible colour in spring.

Pot growing is easiest throughout Eastern Australia, although I have had success in my Sydney garden in a raised bed with added sand. A free draining sandy soil is ideal. Does not like humidity. Spectacular in a hanging basket as it will tumble over the side as it grows.

Allow to dry out in summer. Never water before a hot day over 30 degrees. The climate in its natural range is a wet winter and dry summer. Unbothered by typical garden pests. Root rot is the most common problem if drainage and moisture are not ideal. Some light tip pruning when young will give you more flowers in spring.
