An upright shrub with fine green foliage and clusters of small, red-tinged, button-like flowers that persist throughout the growing season.

Each of the tiny flowers that make up a cluster are actually little paper daisies! They are so wonderful and often change colour from closed to open, fading as the flowers age and also sometimes in different growing and light conditions.

This beautiful plant is perfect for a cut and come again garden, as the flowers last a long time and regular clipping will just give you more flowers in the long run.

It is a vertical shape, so keep that in mind when planning a position in your garden borders. Placing it mid to back of flowering beds will be best, provided it still gets good sun. It can flower at other times outside of spring, but not reliably so in my opinion.

Would be a stunning feature in a pot.

Thrives in well-drained soils under full sun. Tolerates light frosts and requires minimal watering once established. Prune after flowering to maintain compact shape.

I have said that this is suitable for the sub-tropics but in my experience that does present some challenge, as I have found Ozothamnus prefer drier climates. I have had plants die on me suddenly in a long wet. I think the secret is to ensure full sun and perfect drainage in wetter climates. In Sydney I had one growing happily in a hot west facing position towards the bottom of a slope and it flourished until we had flooding rains.
