A compact shrub with small, aromatic green leaves and clusters of small starry white flowers in late winter and spring. Sometimes with spot flowers in mid summer too. Bright yellow or cream stamens held at an angle to one side.

A pretty shrub that is very useful for shaded spots in the garden, such as that awkward spot between the house and fence on suburban blocks. Can also be grown under larger shrubs and trees and takes well to some light pruning for an informal open hedge or screen.

Prefers well-drained soils under partial shade although will also tolerate full sun. Suitable for light frosts and drought areas once established.
