A small, open shrub with slender leaves and dense clusters of starry white or white and pink flowers that create a soft, airy effect in gardens. It has a delicate appearance but is actually quite hardy.  The leaves have a charming habit of folding up along the stems at night.

It can be very lanky and will naturally grow few long stems if you let it. Tip pruning it when young can help a little, but you will not achieve the neat rounded appearance of many other Pimelea with this variety. It would be better to work with it’s natural character by surrounding it with other plants to provide support for it’s height. For example, it looks very much in place in a wildflower meadow, planted in gaps between grasses or as a contrast to neatly clipped and rounded forms. The flowers are charming, attract pollinators and it flowers for a long period of time.

Prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils in full sun to partial shade. Tolerates light frost. Prune lightly after flowering to encourage extra stems and blooms.
