A delightful Australian native annual that flowers abundantly with multiple soft blue domed flowers arranged spectacularly on tall stems. The pretty foliage is finely divided and felty in appearance.

The flowers are beautiful to observe as they slowly unfurl over several days. The colour can also change from a deep through to paler blue as the flower matures. I find the buds and seed heads just as interesting in the garden too.

This is one of the most perfect Australian native flowers for cottage style gardens. It is oh so pretty in the middle of a floral border as it has some height and can look a bit straggly on the edge. But planted on mass it is really a treat to behold.

Also great for wildflower meadows in the right growing conditions as it will self seed and is very easy to grow from seed.

Popular with pollinators, although not a Blue Banded Bee favourite even thought it’s the right colour – as they seem to prefer more tubular flowers in my garden.

Thrives in sandy, well-drained soils in full sun. Requires moderate watering and benefits from deadheading to prolong flowering.
